Privacy policy

TradeStack is software for residential construction in British Columbia: contractors, homeowners, crew and suppliers use it to run jobs, track cost and get paid. It is operated byTradeStack Consulting Incorporated, British Columbia, Canada, and applies to the TradeStack apps for iOS and Android and to this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Account details — name, email, phone, and your role.
- Business details (contractors and suppliers) — business name, BC Housing licence and WorkSafeBC numbers, trades.
- Job records — projects, bids, invoices, receipts, purchase orders, costs and payments.
- Photos and recordings — receipt and site photos, and voice recordings you make in ScopePad.
- Location (crew) — your position when you clock in and out of a job, used to confirm time on site. Only at those moments; we do not track location in the background.
- Payment references — Stripe identifiers. Card numbers go to Stripe and never reach us.
Why
To provide the service: run your jobs, calculate cost, process payments, and let the people on a job see what they need to. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it
- Supabase — our database and file storage, hosted in Canada (Montréal).
- Vercel — hosts the website and app; requests may be handled outside Canada.
- Stripe — payments and contractor payouts.
- Google (Gemini API) — reads receipt photos to extract amounts, and turns ScopePad notes, photos and recordings into a draft scope. These are sent to Google for processing and may be handled outside Canada.
- Resend — sends invoice and account emails.
Who else sees it
People on the same job see what the job needs: a homeowner sees the contractor's business details and bids; a contractor sees their crew's hours; crew see the receipts they captured. Access is enforced by the database itself, not only by the app.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. After that, invoices, receipts, payments and job cost records are kept without your name, because they are business and tax records shared with the other party on each job, and Canadian law generally requires them for six years.
Your choices
- Delete your account in the app under Account, or see how to delete your account.
- Access or correct your information by emailing privacy@tradestackpro.com.
- You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
